5 PM in Chinatown is an ongoing street and documentary photography project exploring the rhythms, identities, and everyday experiences of Chinatowns across different cities. Beginning in New York City's Chinatown, the series observes the relationship between people, place, and time, documenting the subtle details that give each neighborhood its distinct character.

Through moments of movement, routine, commerce, and quiet observation, the work examines how daily life unfolds within these densely layered urban environments. Street corners, storefronts, passing figures, and interactions between people and their surroundings become fragments of a larger narrative one shaped by familiarity, cultural identity, and the continuous activity of neighborhood life.

As the project expands to other Chinatowns across the United States and internationally, I aim to explore both the shared rhythms that connect these communities and the individual characteristics that distinguish them. Each location offers a different perspective on how history, culture, and contemporary life coexist within the urban landscape.
